Well, I never have been good at keeping journals, so I guess that's expected.
Anyway, what to say about the long while between this and my last post? I guess the most notable and relevant thing is my rabid obsession with the mangas Berserk and Saiyuki.
Berserk came first sometime last summer, and because I didn't know that the series was incomplete, I let myself get so caught up I marathoned over 300 chapters in three days. Bad. Idea. I swear, man, that much Berserk at once is not good for your mental health, especially for me because I get so damn attached to the characters. I've re-read all the other arcs at least once by now, but I don't think I'll be able to get through the end of the Golden Age again any time soon. T_T
Even with all the emotional trauma, though, Berserk is hands-down in my top-three favourite mangas of all time. (Alongside Saiyuki and Shaman King) I love it to death. I really do. So I'm in the process of colouring pages for a Manga Music Video (actually several...) but I'm taking my time until I get my new computer and a better movie maker than shit-tastic WMM. Look forward to them, though! In the meantime I will be uploading some of my favourite pieces so far. I swear, colouring Miura-sensei's art is an experience nothing short of holy.
Then there's Saiyuki. Dear lord I love this series. I've gained a sizable harem from it alone, and never have I seen such a plethora of delicious men anywhere in one place ever. Minekura-sensei's art is even more full of eye-candy than Miura-sensei's! And Saiyuki Gaiden? Manly tears, man. I'm a girl but I cried manly tears like I haven't since TTGL. Goujun was the fucking man. Hell, they all were. Kenren's and Konzen's last speeches just about did me in. Expect some coloured pages from that, too.
As for other things, I'm working hard on my novellas. Thorns is about 75-80% done, and I'm only starting to set things straight with Shards, so that's probably about 5-10% still. Last night I got inspired to make a trailer for Thorns, though, so I've gotten to work on the illustrations I'll be using. It most likely won't get done until I have that new computer and shiny movie program, though, but unless I hit some sort of crazy drawing streak, the art won't get done until then anyways.
I'm also working on a website specifically for those books, but it's slow going. I forget about it most of the time, so who knows when I'll be satisfied to put it on the net. Oh well.
Tonight, however, I'm gonna upload the "cover" for Thorns along with the summary I finally managed to write (the story is pretty complex, so it was hard to put together a satisfactory teaser that briefly covers the basics) so yay~ for the internet's first glimpse of what will be my debut novel!
Alright, that's enough for now. So much to do, so little time.
